Observational evidence of ecosystem carbon (C) and CO2, N2O and CH4 (GHG) budgets and response to changing drivers will be used to validate, calibrate and improve models.
Uncertainties are systematically accessed via a range of standardized tools and are fully propagated across scales and integration steps.
Together with improved historical data and projections of natural and anthropogenic drivers and socio-economic pressures at regional and European scale, this allows an integrated analysis of the C and GHG budget in European terrestrial ecosystems, the annual to decadal variability and future vulnerability based on much improved knowledge.
